Authenticity Works

I have been traveling a little over the past few weeks, and in between the trips, I have had very full days at home. The obligations of my packed schedule have occupied much of my mind. However, in the quieter moments, I have considered my vision for my life coaching business. In thinking through how I want to portray my brand to others and what my niche might be, I’ve realized that social media has been a limiting factor. I find it easy to look at coaches I follow and use their content as a guide, but I only think this method is helpful after I’ve processed through my own ideas.

I have been told that self-reflective questions, such as, “what are the strengths I possess?” and “who in my life am I already influencing?” are successful starters to build my brand image. The message I have been hearing is that the better I know myself and my abilities, the clearer I become on my business vision and what I offer. In effect, authentic brands attract more supporters.

I believe in this advice as I have noticed that the weeks I obey my time constraints on social media apps, I have greater capacity to think for myself because my mind is not flooded with other peoples’ lives. And the thoughts of comparison that almost inevitably arise when I am on social media have a lesser hold over my confidence.

As I write today, I am hoping to prioritize more time to apply this advice. So if you think of it, I welcome your accountability by asking me how my business planning is going. :)
