Meet Dr. Megumi Homma, D.C. + Tips on Navigating Transitions
Today on Ep. 2 of What Does Wellness Look Like for You? I’m excited to introduce my friend Dr. Megumi Homma, a chiropractor specializing in pediatric and prenatal care. She’s recently made the big move to Guam (only one month ago!) and works right down the street from our family’s office at Pacific Life Chiropractic.
It’s been such an unexpected gift to have a friend like Megumi here to share in this season of change and navigating transitions. (More on transitions below).
Megumi pursues whole-person wellness in many ways- like carving out time for self-care, journaling, and regular exercise- she’s even casually training for a marathon! She’s passionate about continuously learning in this field and sharing her expertise with others.
In today’s conversation, Megumi talks about prioritizing emotional wellness through self-kindness and embracing environmental wellness by spending time outside at least once a week.
More on Transitions:
Megumi’s focus on self-compassion during change reminded me of William Bridges' book, Transitions, that I’ve been reading. Bridges explains how our identity often ties to our physical environment—the routines we follow and the spaces we know. Moving uproots those familiar frameworks, pushing us into what he calls the “Neutral Zone,” a messy in-between stage where we’re no longer who we were but not yet who we’re becoming.
This space requires patience, curiosity, and grace as we unlearn and relearn how to live in a new context.
So, for anyone in the midst of change—whether it’s a new place, role, or mindset—let’s take Megumi’s advice and remember to be gentle with ourselves.
If you’re seeking a space to process through your own transition or want accountability in pursuing whole-person wellness, I’d love to chat further with you. Schedule a free intro to coaching session with me here or email me at sarahlaurencoach@gmail.com with any questions.
